The surge protection module "BARRIER KATRON-SKZ" is designed to ensure safe and uninterrupted operation of the "Katron-SKZ" controller connected to the measurement and control lines of the CP rectifier. The module performs separate monitoring of voltage and current in the measuring and supply circuits of the controller, switching them off when threshold values are reached. When extremely high values of overvoltage and overload occur, the module takes the full brunt of the impact and can fail while keeping the KATRON-SKZ controller in working order. But due to the simple connection process and incomparably lower cost of the Barrier Katron module, it can be easily replaced.
Functionality and design
The module reduces high-voltage stresses induced in measuring circuits (voltage, current, potential) and controller power supply circuits by limiting the voltage to a safe level. Provides protection against symmetrical (between wires) induced stresses and guarantees the continuity of the technological process. In the event of excessive current, the emergency circuit is briefly opened with subsequent self-restoration. The barrier is installed between the harness connector and the standard connector of the Katron-SKZ controller (transit), does not require modifications and connected on the PnP principle.
